Don't try to move under a lowering door
It may seem like a short distance but you should never try to sneak under your garage door while it's closing. Your door may have safety sensors, and it may reverse when something passes underneath it, but it is a piece of machinery and sometimes machines can malfunction, so you don't want to rely on this. Plain and simple it is not worth the risk. Just wait another couple of seconds.
Pay close attention to the springs
Garage door springs can be downright dangerous. Check their condition regularly and pay close attention to any evidence of wear and tear or rust. If they need to be adjusted or replaced do not attempt to do this by yourself. This type of work takes special equipment and a skilled hand, so contact our experts to get it done safely.
Provide proper lubrication to the opener's metal parts
If you have a chain drive opener, you need to lubricate its chain to ensure its smooth operation. If you have a screw drive unit, its threaded rod can also be lubricated. Consult your owner's manual to determine which type of product you should use. A non-sticky lithium-based substance is usually the preferred choice.
